This summer my boys and I were lucky enough to travel back to my hometown in California for a month. We love life in Summerville, but as Dorothy says “there’s no place like home”.

I was also lucky enough to get in a few amazing sessions while I was there, including this one with Woodland Christian High School senior Kayla. After seeing her Pinterest inspo board and reading up on her questionnaire answers I started looking for the perfect locations for her. We initially wanted urban, then rustic but our awesome rustic locations were just too far away to make them both happen and we couldn’t turn down the awesome bridge and barn spots!

Some of the things important to her are family, her pups, volleyball, 4-H/FFA, and her car so we figured out some ways to incorporate them into her session! We actually managed to fit a lot in since we’d only have one opportunity to work together, but I think we did pretty well.

I’ve actually known this sweet girl’s mom most of my life as she and my oldest sister were best friends growing up, and I am so honored that she chose me to do her daughter’s photos! It was so much fun getting to know more about Kayla during our session prep process, and then spending the evening with her and her momma for our session.
